What It Is

As the first element a web site visitor views at the top of a web page, the header is important for establishing the branding of the application and providing ready access to important application functionality. While top-level navigation is typically considered a primary component of the header, navigation elements are treated as a separate pattern for the purposes of the Fireman's Fund Application pattern library.

Child Elements

The header is composed of the following child elements (mouse over items in the list below to see highlighted in the sample image):

When to Use

The header element must be included in every Fireman's Fund application page.

Fireman's Fund Usage Guidelines

The following guidelines should be followed when working with the Header pattern:

  • The Fireman's Fund logo graphic must include an anchor element (hyperlink) that links to http://www.firemansfund.com.
  • Update the Link 1 and Link 2 labels and associated hyperlinks as appropriate for your application.
  • Update the Application Name placeholder label as appropriate for your application.
